GREENSTONE CuSn12Ni2 bronze alloy powder is a copper-tin-nickel alloy powder containing approximately 12% tin (Sn) and 2% nickel (Ni), engineered for applications requiring a combination of wear resistance, corrosion resistance, good friction behavior, mechanical strength, and reliable processability.

The alloy combines the inherent corrosion resistance and thermal conductivity of copper alloys with the strengthening effects of tin and nickel. It is particularly suitable for manufacturing, coating, restoration, and surface engineering of bearings, bushings, sliding components, valve parts, pump components, marine equipment, hydraulic components, and heavy-duty machinery parts.

GREENSTONE CuSn12Ni2 powder can be supplied in controlled particle-size distributions for laser cladding, thermal spraying, powder metallurgy, and other powder-based manufacturing processes. Particle morphology and size distribution can be selected according to the customer’s equipment and application requirements.

Excellent Wear and Friction Performance

CuSn12Ni2 tin bronze provides good resistance to sliding wear and friction, making it suitable for bearings, bushings, guide components, sliding surfaces, gears, wear plates, and other mechanically loaded components.

Its tribological characteristics make it especially useful where metallic surfaces operate under repeated contact, sliding, or moderate-to-heavy mechanical loads.

The copper-tin-nickel alloy system provides good resistance to atmospheric, water, steam, and various industrial environments. Nickel further improves alloy strength and corrosion performance compared with conventional tin-bronze compositions.

This makes CuSn12Ni2 suitable for marine engineering, pumps, valves, hydraulic equipment, offshore components, and industrial machinery exposed to humid or corrosive operating environments.

Good Machinability and Finishing Performance

CuSn12Ni2 coatings and deposited layers can be machined and finished after processing, making the powder suitable for dimensional restoration and functional surface manufacturing where final tolerances are achieved through subsequent machining.

Suitable for Laser Cladding and Surface Repair

CuSn12Ni2 powder can be used for laser cladding and laser metal deposition on compatible substrates when appropriate process parameters and transition strategies are applied.

Typical applications include restoration of worn bearing surfaces, bushings, sliding components, shafts, valve components, and other high-value industrial parts. Laser processing can provide localized deposition with controlled heat input and reduced material consumption compared with complete component replacement.

Thermal Spray Applications

Appropriate powder grades can also be used for thermal spray processes to produce functional bronze coatings for wear protection, friction control, dimensional restoration, and corrosion protection.

Particle-size distribution should be selected according to the specific thermal spray equipment and process.
